Home 03:38
Traveled to the mountains Down into the valleys Drove from coast to coast And when I had returned This is what I learned The thing I love the most Is to be home, home, home, home Set out in search of romance All across this country Ran from man to man And when the seeds were sown Found the truth I owned Only thing I understand Is my home, home, home, home Home, home, home, home Clean sheets they wait for me There’s no place I’d rather be Than home, home – By Anji Bee (BMI)

Feel So Good 03:52
Ooh lover, you make me feel so good All over, just like I knew you would Now you’ve won me, you didn’t think you could Now I’ve gotta have ya, I think that’s understood Ooh, and we should, and we should, and we should Get together Ooh, and we should, yeah we should, yeah we should Get together (together) Ya make me feel so good (feel so good) (x4) Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh uh-huh Ya make me feel (feel so good) so good Ya make me feel (feel so good) so good Feel (feel so good) feel so good, so good uh-huh Ya make me feel so good (so good) Ya make me feel so good (oh so good) Ya make me feel so good (so good) Ya make me feel so good – By Anji Bee (BMI)
3.
Rain 04:26
When was the last time that we saw rain? Come wash away the grey; make it all clean again Your pitter-patter I find so comforting So rain, my dear old friend, return once more to me Day after day, infernal sun, he rises through the gloom His jovial light offends my eye as he invades my room Where are the clouds I knew as if they were my own? Please come back, envelope me, make me feel right at home Rattle my shutters Whistle through my eaves It’s been too quiet here Stir up my senses, please Please – By Anji Bee (BMI)
4.
Shine (free) 03:45
Look out across the night Into the falling sky From blue into gray Match the mood of my eyes The city now succumbs to darkness With a quiet sigh But oh, we’ll not forget The light’s not far behind Ooh, its promise is contained Within each star that shines Let it shine Listen and you’ll find A silence that belies The drama of our lives All our lows and our highs The people now succumb To darkness with a silent cry But oh, we’ll not forget The light’s not far behind Ooh, its promise is contained Within each star that shines Let it shine Shine, shine, shine, shine Let it shine Shine, shine, shine, shine Shine, shine, shine, shine Shine, shine, shine, shine – By Anji Bee (BMI)

Feels like it’s one of those days One of those days Do ya know what I mean? I wish I’d stayed home in bed Covered my head And told everyone to go away Because it’s one of those days One of those days Do ya know what I mean? Wish I could stop Turn back the clock And start it all over again Because it’s one of those days Just one of those days Do ya know what I mean? One of those days, just one of those days Do you know what I mean? I said it’s one of those days, just one of those days, those days, those days… – By Anji Bee (BMI)

Love 03:41
Love is so hard to find Love that’s returned in kind Love brings you peace of mind I want love We all want love We all need love Love So if you see your chance, take it Don’t ever forsake it Ooh you just can’t fake it Come with me and make love Love, love, love I want love Love I want love We all want love We all need love Love – By Anji Bee (BMI)
7.
What’s the point in thinking over How it could’ve been When there’s no chance of doing over All those things again Would have Should have Could have Might have Water Water under the bridge (x4) Yes indeed time’s come and gone History is written Naught to do but continue Our future now begins Would have Should have Could have Might have Water Water under the bridge (x4) Ooh ooh ooh… – By Anji Bee (BMI)

The multitudinous laughter of the sea Trapped in a violent silence I can’t break I’m insignificant I no longer read, I don’t think, & I can’t speak Trapped in a violent silence I can’t break I’m insignificant I’m dazed and I’m drained Just a shell of myself Oh oh oh I’m insignificant (x2) When the world is so big Time stretching out immeasurable Who am I to say anything (x2) Oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh Insignificant (x5) – By Anji Bee (BMI)
10.
Sinking 03:14
The bills are getting paid And all of them on time Every day the sun keeps rising Up into the sky But every night There’s a cold, cold stone Where my heart should be Its put away And locked up tight I’ve thrown away the key Oh but its hard Yeah, its so hard To say what I mean to say Push it down and block it out Hope it all just goes away Who am I to complain? People got it worse than me No food to eat, no place to sleep Living in poverty I’m just some girl Who’s got it all That’s what they like to think But I’ve just learned To bail it out Quick enough not to sink Oh, I am sinking Oh and its hard Yeah its so hard To trust anyone out there ‘Cause everybody’s hurting too Too preoccupied to care Oh lord, oh lord I am sinking (x4) – By Anji Bee (BMI)
11.
Believe 05:20
Looking into the future Through the eyes of the past Its hard to know how far you’ll go Or how long it will last Its so hard to make commitments When all you see is change Nothing worldly is permanent Our lives, they rearrange But I’d like to believe There’s something waiting for me When I finally arrive at the end of the line Guess I’ll just have to wait and see Back when I was younger I never could have known I’d be where I am today Look at how I’ve grown Staring back at yesterday The shapes fall into place Seems the mystery of history Is easy to retrace Still I’d like to believe There’s something waiting for me When I finally arrive at the end of the line Guess I’ll just have to wait and see Oh. Wait and see. But I’d like to believe There’s something waiting for me When I finally arrive at the end of the line Guess I’ll just have to wait and see Oh. Wait and see. – By Anji Bee (BMI)

about

Future Past, Lovespirals’ 4th full-length album, is a career-defining synthesis of the band’s vast musical influences into a fresh new electronica sound. This captivating 11 track set contains their strongest songwriting to date, with an attention to detail in recording quality and production that is unmatched in the duo’s decade-long history. As the title suggests, Lovespirals have melded the contemporary with the classic; embracing the past, but with an eye towards the future.

In that spirit, the duo made a nod to their earliest collaborations with the atmospheric drum & bass tune, “Love,” which was remixed by various producers to create the 'Love EP,' also available on Bandcamp. On the other end of the musical spectrum is “Feel So Good,” by far the band’s funkiest downtempo groove, infused with dashes of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon and Marvin Gaye’s Trouble Man. This track was featured as a Sony Acid Planet remix contest, which lead to the 'Feel So Good EP,' also available on Bandcamp. Interestingly, both of these songs feature lyrics which vocalist, Anji Bee, wrote within the first year of working with band founder, Ryan Lum.

Lovely album opener, “Home,” happily welcomes the band’s return to electronica from their previous Dream Pop release, 'Long Way From Home.' This track, along with the gorgeously melancholic “Shine,” and epic album-closer, “Believe,” are bittersweet electro-pop gems in the vein of early Air or Zero 7, with lazy beats, lush arrangements, and Bee’s honeyed vocals. But Lum’s masterful guitar work sets the band apart from their downtempo contemporaries, bringing the rhythm and lead playing of a classic rock artist to a largely computer-based genre.

It’s the magical combination of Lum’s soulful guitar and Bee’s sumptuous vocal harmonies that is the cornerstone of Lovespirals’ unique signature sound. With a subtle yet powerful mix of musical moods and emotional expressions, 'Future Past' is sure to enchant both old and new listeners for years to come.

Chris of Chillout Scene wrote:
“Lovespirals’ sound is similar to one of my favorite chillout artists, Zero 7. Ryan’s bluesy guitar playing makes them unique and even more interesting than Zero 7. Anji’s heavenly vocals also set Lovespirals apart from other artists. A delightfully chill album.”

Singer/Songwriter Beth Hirsch said:
“Lovespirals latest CD, 'Future Past' is easily one of the best chill out albums to welcome in 2010. The album is sexy, moody, bluesy, ethereal – pure Lovespirals.”

Matt Rowe of Music TAP wrote:
“Lovespirals is an undiscovered diamond, cut to a many-faceted perfection in their new album... Future Past is their masterpiece work to date. With Manzarek-like keyboards, a masterful bluesy guitar, and an angelic voice... not to be missed.”

Brett Crockett of Karmacoda said:
“Future Past sounds both classic and yet completely new; it features the most compelling elements of seventies groups yet is completely rooted in today’s electronica/pop/alternative genres.”
