Happy Holidays (2012 Version)

from Happy Holidays (single) by Lovespirals

/

about

In 2012, Lovespirals, were invited to contribute music to a new holiday compilation on Projekt Records. Rather than cover a Christmas classic, the duo reinterpreted the Anji Bee original, “Happy Holidays,” in a melancholic dream pop style. This moodier version illustrates the sad lyrics to a tee and would fit quite well on the upcoming 5th album, due out early next year.

Originally released on the Projekt Records compilation, 'Ornamental' (2012)

lyrics

I hung up the lights
They’re blinking merrily
It's got me thinking back
To how things used to be
I’m feeling kinda blue
From remembering you
And how I used to feel

I would give you a call
If I only knew how to
Just to say happy holidays
Happy holidays to you

I went to a party
They’re drinking merrily
It's got me thinking back
To how things used to be
I’m feeling kinda blue
From remembering you
And how I used to feel

I would give you a call
If I only knew how to
Just to say happy holidays
Happy holidays to you
