The writing and recording of "Spinning Circles" was begun in 2015, but was set aside for several years as the band focused in on more dream pop oriented songs for the album. Because Ryan kept using the demo recording of the song in his videos for the duo's Happy Healthy Vegan YouTube channel, people kept asking if the song would included on the album. So in 2018 Ryan and Anji completed the song with final vocals, instrumentation, and production. Some behind the scenes videos and stories were shared on Facebook and later compiled as a vlog on the Lovespirals YouTube channel in 2023, and an official music video was created by Anji in 2021.
